    Description

ORIGINAL 19TH CENTURY WATERCOLOR PAINTING AMERICANA
THIS HANDSOME YOUNG BLACK MAN DRESSED IN WHAT I THINK IS SOME TYPE OF NAVEL MILITARY CADET UNIFORM.  IF YOU NOTICE HIS HAT HAS A RIBBON STREAMING DOWN THE BACK OF THE HAT.  HE ALSO HAS HIS WORKING ROPE SLUNG ACROSS HIS SHOULDER WEARING A BLUE JACKET WITH A BLACK SCARF WITH A THICK KNOT.
I HAD THIS PAINTING'S FRAME TIGHTENED AND WHILE HE WAS AT IT, I HAD IT EXAMINED. IT IS POSITIVELY A WATER COLOR
IT HAS A GLASS COVER SO THERE IS GLARE IN PICS.  IF ANYONE NEEDS MORE PHOTOS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
THE WATERCOLOR IS EXTREMELY WELL DONE WITH GOOD COLOR AND DETAIL
ARTIST SIGNED E. J. JEPSON BOTTOM RIGHT
ON BACK THERE IS AN INSCRIPTION "FOR ROBERT FROM GRANDMA"VERY INTERESTING PAINTING.  I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW TO MORE ABOUT IT
FRAME IS ORIGINAL MEASURING 18 X 13-1/2 INCHES WIDESIGHT IS 16-1/2" X 12 INCHES WIDE
